Na Leo TV will telecast live coverage of a community input meeting on the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation’s planned medical services reductions at Kona Community Hospital on Monday. The telecast on cable TV channel 55 begins at 5:30 p.m.

Jay Kreuzer, HHSC’s West Hawaii Regional CEO, and other hospital officials will present information about the planned reductions of 34 positions and closure of the 18-bed skilled nursing unit.

“Live television coverage of important meeting such as this will help our community to understand the needs and challenges faced by our local health care service providers,” said Stacy Higa, Na Leo TV’s general manager.

Na Leo TV’s live coverage will be on Cable TV channel 55 at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Na Leo TV will rebroadcast a recording of the meeting on channel 55 on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and twice more on Wednesday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Lane closures set

Alternating single lane closures are scheduled on Hawaii Belt Road in both directions between Jardine Road and Puualaea Homestead Road in the vicinity of Laupahoehoe Gulch Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for roadway improvements.
